A look through my lens:
I’m first and foremost a child of my community. I was born and raised on Indianapolis’s west side, and it was there where my creativity in storytelling began. Since high school, I’ve used my camera as a tool to tell stories of community empowerment and human expression, and my storytelling has led me around the world to capture how different people connect to their ideas of home. Whether I’m photographing portraits of friends, family and fellow change agents across the globe or making documentaries about black mothers making gardens in food deserts, I always strive to put the story first.
